Crazy Yarn Crawl

Crazy fun that is!
Well we only ended up going to 3 yarn shops and a beading store, and of course we stopped for lunch. It was a blast!
Here are some pictures of the events of the day:
Started out at Creative Fibers and found a few goodies.
Moved onto Webs, where I was completely overwhelmed, but managed to get over it so that I could hunt through for some more goodies. This is me standing near the entrance to their insanely large warehouse. Then while we were taking the following group shot, they saw that we were in a big group and gave us goody bags!! Woo Hoo! What's not to love! So in the next picture we are all searching through to see what we got.

Finally while waiting for our table to be ready for lunch a few of us ran over to Northampton Wools. This is a shot of the girls that made it over.

What a fun group, and a great way to spend the day! I now have 4 projects waiting to be made. They will all come after my cardi is finished....

Yarn Crawl!

So tomorrow, I am spending the majority of the day crawling around CT and up into Mass to go to several knitting shops with my SnB group.
We plan to go to several small shops, with the main purpose of going to Webs, and whatever else we come across along the way. Here is our eventful itinerary.

Wish me luck to be able to resist spending too much money, and the money I do spend I hope to put to good use! :)

I'm very excited :) Happy knitting!

It Has Arrived!

I got my Kindle :)
It is super sleek and stylish. Functional and wonderful. This is a photo of the oh so cute packaging it was wrapped up in. So, at Chan's request, here is what I think of it so far.

It is small and easy to bring with me wherever I go.
I love the sleep mode for when I have to quickly stop reading to run around with the littles.
I love the fact that you can set it to read out loud, sense lately we've been trying to spend more time outside playing and going for walks, I can set it in the stroller and plug in some headphones and listen while we walk.
I love that you can also change the pace of the reader to set it to a speed that is easy for you to follow along with, and you can also choose a female voice or a male voice.
I love that you can turn it off and the next time you turn it on it will go right back to where you stopped reading. It also does this if you choose to read another book for a while and then go back to another one, it will start you back where you left off.
I love the ability to shop for new books right from the Kindle store on the device and if you aren't sure you are going to like it you can get a free sample of the first chapter instantly downloaded and you can start reading. Then if you like what you read you can just click and buy the entire book which will also instantly download.
I love that it has a built in dictionary, so if you come across a word that you don't know you can scroll to it and it will give you the definition.
I love that it also has wikipedia on it so if you want to learn more about a specific topic you've read about you can search for it.
I love that the pages look just like the pages in a regular book, and there is no glare when you are reading outside.

The only thing that I don't like is that the first one came with a case included and this one doesn't so you have to spend an additional $30 for one. But I chose to just go find some wool sweaters from the Goodwill to cut up and sew together for cases. I will get multiple cases out of the 3 sweaters I purchased for $20. I will of course post pictures once they are done.

All in all I love my little Kindle. Oh and I have decided to give it a name. Krykit. Like a little bug cricket, but on the Kindle it calls it Krystle's Kindle so I took the Kry from my name and the Ki from kindle and added the t. Cute, I know.

Happy Reading :)

Those darn Dogs!

They eat everything!

This is a Frisbee (or it used to be) that S gave to Little Dan. It is foam and light-weight so the idea is that it is easier to learn how to throw a Frisbee by practicing with it. So much for that. The girls go to it and now its history!

But still they are cute... How can you get too upset with sweet little pups like these? :) In this picture Kati Lady and Z Dog were trying to snuggle up with me while I was trying to do laundry...sill dogs.
Hope everyone is having a happy week with their fur babies. Go check out other cute pups at Dogs on Thursday.

hip hip Hooray!

SO, I'm really excited because I recently pre-ordered the Kindle 2! It is the electronic book by Amazon.com. I have actually been looking into their first one and other e-books for about a year, and just now caved. It was supposed to be released today, but I got the email yesterday that it was out and being shipped so instead of getting it Thursday I think it's coming tomorrow!!! Woo baby! I'm stoked! :)

Happy Tuesday...go order yourself something nice that you can get excited about :D

Little boys and their toys..

Or more specifically their train tracks. I have started babysitting for this family on the weekend that has 2 boys. Now Little Dan loves train tracks, and it's not just him. It is all (or all that I have known) of them. The last time I watched these two little boys, they wanted me to build a train track. And so I did. And here it is:

And they played with it all day!

Happy Munchkin Monday :)
