August means The Hampton's

We are here again for the month.

Last year we were staying in Amaganset, which is a little area that from my understanding is a part of East Hampton. Everything last year was very lavish, and chic. The scenery was amazing! Here is a photo recap of last year:

It's Lovely isn't it. Last year, we had a lot of fun soaking in the sun and building memories. This year should be just as much fun! It's day four and we are already living it up! Looking forward to the rest of August :)

Nature's Beauties

The Hamptons are definitely a place that I would have on that list. It is gorgeous here. We are nestled in a residential area in East Hampton, near Amagansett. We can see the Bay from the house, and it is just a two minute walk (at kid speed) to the beach. Simply wonderful.

So far work-wise, things have been good. Extremely better than past Nannying work trips I have been on. I have my own room.. enough said.

We have explored a little bit of the area. Took the kids putt putt golfing the other day, and I won a free game for the next time. We have spent a lot of time adventuring by foot, at the beach. The weather has overall been great. Although as I'm sitting here typing this, it is overcast, a little chilly, and there is actually enough fog in the air that our view of the water has turned into a view of smokey-white abyss this morning. All in all a great time is being had.

I have been knitting and jogging daily to keep myself sane. The knitting is my zen, and the jogging is just a wonderful breath of fresh air. I have only missed one day since arriving, and that was simply because I was the adult on duty and couldn't leave the kids here to go out.

My spirits are great, and we are almost finished with week one. Hopefully things keep up in the direction that they are going! More to come soon!

New Job

I came home from my two weeks of vacation to start my new job, and be in my new apartment. I will have to show you pictures of my new apartment later, because I haven't taken any specifically of the pad all set up.. though you may be able to see it in the background of some others.
Anywho, I was feeling a little nervous to start my new day, so I figured what better way to settle the nerves then by picking out my first day outfit to prepare myself. This is what I ended up wearing:

My White skirt with lavender flowery print, a mauve-y pink camisole, with a white short sleeved henley over it, and plum colored ballet flats, that I bought on a quick shopping expedition with me mom while I was home.

It is so nice to wake up in the morning and actually be able to make coffee while I'm getting ready, sit down and have breakfast, and have some time before heading out the door to work. I knew that it was close, but decided to clock it on the odometer to see if it was walking or biking distance. Turns out it is only 3 miles (mostly uphill, but downhill going home).

When I arrived the first morning in my "first day" outfit, I found out that every Friday is a color day, and you dress in that color. The upcoming Friday just happened to be Purple Day... great sense I was wearing most of my purple already. I ended up wearing these deep Purple capri's with a lavender tank under a purple shrug, and again my plum colored flats.

So far, the job is great. I am with a good group of kids, and I can actually interact with adults during the daytime.. well mostly with the kids, but it is good to have "real people" at work!
And I have been walking on the days that I don't have to be somewhere right away after work, and today I even rode my bike... getting there was an intense work out, but the ride home was a breeze!

Last week was red week and up next is orange week.. I hope the weather is nice on Friday, I have an orange striped skirt I can wear!

And the winner is....

A brand new life! (Well at least a new chapter.)

As I have recently signed the next faze of my life into effect, I am feeling quite excited and trying to let the little irritations of the current life slip away....if only they were little irritations it would be great!

So I have signed the contract to my new job, which will start when I return to the East Coast in the end of summer.. according to my contract, my new title will be the "Assistant Head Teacher" (doesn't that sound fancy?!). Well I will be working at a day care, and learning facility working with babies and toddlers, but mostly helping out with the 2's. It will be a very refreshing improvement.

Over the weekend I signed the deposit info and credit check forms to hold my apartment until I am ready to move in. By the way, I chose the first one that I went to see... the one that is getting the counter-tops upgraded to Granite, and with a full bath inside my studio. The main living space is also much larger (18'x10'9").... and it has a breakfast bar, so there is no need for dining furniture! What more could I ask for of a cozy little place all my own :)

I also planned my drive across the country with my favorite Bora Bora. We are planning on driving my new car (yet to be purchased, and who knows what it will be yet) from Seattle to Boston (all on I-90... a strange fascination of Laura's) and then down to my fabulous new place in CT. We decided to stop every other night and camp and every other night get hotels. So we will be hotel-ing in Chicago and Boston, and camping in Gillette, Wyoming (or somewhere near there), and near Niagara Falls (on the Canadian side..we heard it was better), we are also hoping to beg some free dinner or gas off my uncle in Butte, Montana (if I can manage to get a hold of him). All in all it should be a great trip!

So it looks like the next chapter is set to start in:
65 days when I move into the new place
79 days when I have my last day with the Littles
89 days when I begin my Journey across the country
&&
96 days when I start my new job

Wow! That was a lot of counting!
