Mr. Charles Chooses the Chair

Recently I decided that I needed additional seating in my living room. Back in January, I was out 'Window Shopping' when I found a chair that I thought would be perfect, however, I wasn't going to just buy it... because truth be told, I didn't need the chair.

I went back to visit it a handful of times, and then in the end of Feb. when I was perusing the store it was at, I found it again... and it was on clearance!! So I decided that I could get it, as long as it would fit in my car to get home. Guess what.. I made it fit :)

The other day I was babysitting for the family whose house I set the fire alarms off at (remember that--they still have me back!), and the mom is expecting, so as she puts it she has been nesting. What does this have to do with getting a chair you ask? Well she has been buying chairs, and area rugs, and art, and all kinds of things to spruce up the place. When she got the new area rugs, I asked her what she was going to do with the old ones, and she said I could have them! Super cool!! So one of them is now living in my storage unit (I only have a small apt, and both wouldn't fit), and one is in my living room area.

With the rug in place, and a clearance chair that would fit in my car, I got to spruce up my palace! I love the chair, and wouldn't you know it, Charlie loves it too! He actually walks up to it, checks to see if there is anything in his way, then takes a few steps back and does a running, flying leap into the seat. Then he can either curl up in it, or perch up over the back, and peer out the window.

I'm glad he approves of my furniture choices.

Munchkin Monday!

Well, today was my first day taking care of Mr. Roo... He is a great baby, and we had an awesome first day, but before I start my MM posts on this little fella I'd like to say goodbye to all the kiddies at the day care.

One of my favorite things to do with the kids, was to take them for a Carriage Ride. We have this 4-seater, that we load the kids into when the weather is nice, and this last week the weather here was beautiful! (This week is going to make up for it a bit with drizzles, and chills.)

Anyhow, on my last day, I got to take the kids out for my last Carriage Ride. They love it, we always look for fun things around the neighborhood, and make it into a great little outing. Although there will be no more carriage rides, there will be a lot of new strolls in the stroller. So it was a short but sweet run with the old, and now in with the new.

Happy Munchkin Monday!

How much

Is that doggie in the Mirror?

Charlie has discovered his reflection. Aka, his friend in the mirror. He is constantly running over to the mirror and wagging his nub of a tail vigorously. I truly think he believes that if he could just figure out how to get on the other side he could play with that mysterious other dog! Its pretty funny!

Last night for dinner

I made pizza! Thanks to the pizza stone, and the rest of the kit I won in a contest miss Channon held a while back.

It was fun to make, and very tasty to eat! We topped it with fresh basil, mushrooms, red onions, and red bell peppers. We used 2 cheese blends, one of them was my soy cheese blend that Trader Joe's Carries, and the other included Fontina, Parmesan, Provolone, and Asiago. It all came together very well, and like I said, it was very good.

Much better than ordering it, in cost, fun, and taste!

Blog Neglect

I'm guilty!

I have no excuses either! I am down to 2 days a week at my current job, and I am filling in the rest of the days with random babysitting gigs for now, and my new Nanny job is set to start on the 22nd.

Instead of blogging in my spare time, I have been taking Charlie for long walks, working on my knitting, and just hanging out. My knitting is going well. I finished my coquette lace top, but then the bust was much too roomy, it fit everywhere else, so I decided sense it was a quick knit I would frog it and start over. It is in the process now. I am also working on DW's sweater. I have one sleeve down, one sleeve, end weaving, and buttons to go... my goal is to have it completed by the time my sister is her (the last weekend in March) so that she can take it back with her. I have been plugging away more on my coquette top, than DW's sweater, though so I'm going to need to get to a stopping place (or just finish it real quick) and get back to DW's sweater! I let you know which way it goes, and when they are both completed.

Other than that, no blog news here. I will try to be good, and post again soon. In the meantime, I have yarn for a shrug that I want to make to go over the coquette top, as well as many other summer ensembles, but I can't find a pattern I love. I would prefer a free pattern, and just something simple so that it is versatile enough to have options. If you can think of anything let me know! Thanks!

Happy knitting, and blogging!
