Apartment Options

Well I was originally going to see three apartments while Little Dan was at school, but my first appointment cancelled... which gave me one final reason to cross it off the list. Out of the other 2, there was one that I wanted to see, but thought that I probably wasn't going to like, and one that I was going to see that I thought I was absolutely going to love.

The first one that I saw, you walk in and there is about 1.5 feet before you have the entrance to the galley style kitchen(which is being upgraded with granite slab counters) on your left, and the full bath(sink surround also being upgraded to granite) to your right, with the main studio portion in front of you. At the end of the entrance hallway area, you walk into the center of the main room, there is about 6-7 feet to your left and right with an average 5 foot closet in the wall to the right, two big windows, breakfast bar area and lots of space. This complex also has a coin operated laundry room and a 7'x4'(approximately) storage unit in the basement, as well as a secure entry system to get into the building.

The second one that I went to see was right on the harbor, directly across the street from a small stretch of sand. The studio was large, you walk directly into the main area of about 12'x13', a tiny little 2' closet on the wall to the right, the small kitchen with 4 cabinets and very minimal counter-space are in a separate area off the wall that shares the door, and then the private bathroom, is down the hall (yes, outside of the studio) with its own lock and key. The main room had three big windows with excellent views of the harbor, the kitchen had one window with the same view as did the bathroom. As this studio is in a converted 130 year old house, it has no laundry room, and no entry system.

These two apartments are about 4 blocks away from each other, so they share the amenities of the surrounding areas. Which one do you think I am going for and which one do you think I originally loved? Did it stay consistent, or did I flip flop my opinion? I will post pictures soon of the one that I chose (once I know for sure that it is mine, that is).....

I'm betting on the granite and a bathroom you don't have to get dressed to go use... Am I right?
